And gold & the mining stocks are yet higher.

The possible strike Ken, only the possible strike matters to the gold market today. btw, Yes(despite what you might think) that post about the Mexico border zone is quite valid another country would require another currency or (most likely) a greater amount of one of the existing currencies - best bet the US $. When more money is printed the chance for a currency inflation becomes greater.
