how true...even the VIX is relatively tame as it were.

however, note that the level of ST interest rates also flows into volatility premiums...lower rates mean lower premiums, as present value calculations of options include the level of risk free rates to expiration as one of their calculation components. insofar, a lower VIX/QQV level is to be expected here, though probably not THAT low, considering the amount of risk out there. risk that continues to be blithely disregarded by almost every market pundit in the public spotlight. i wish i had a penny for every time a guest on CNBS has assured us that it is now, finally, the time to buy.

which, if you have followed their earlier advice, you can't do, since you've lost your shirt by now...

the best one is "buy and hold", but buy the dips also...HOW? if you've bought already, and are holding, the only thing you can do with dips is hope that they will pass...

the vagaries of WS advice...
