Very true: letting the lunatics run the asylum is the best way to get to the lowest common denominator sentiment in the stock.

Perhaps companies that report on this sort of thing for issuers, like MindfulEye (www.mindfuleye.com) could optimize their tracking by weighting the value of the data mined from each particular message board, IRC channel, etc., with regard to how restrictive the specific source's particpation policies are.
