Just when I thought I had heard it all on CNBC ...

around 7:30pm Larry Kudrow and James Cramer were part of a round table discussion. Sue H. and Ron I. were part of it too I think.

Anyway, Kudrow -- who I believe has been essentially saying since mid 2000 that this 16 month stock market collapse is basically a "blip" and that good times are "just around the corner" as late as last week -- was basically wringing his hands mumbling something to the effect that he couldn't understand why the rate cuts haven't kicked in yet .....

.... so Cramer has to explain to him that rate cuts work to stimulate consumption and aren't as effective in dealing with overcapacity !!

What's Kudrow's title on CNBC, anyway ?? If he's in anyway trying to pass himself off as an economist ... ummmm .... errr .... I don't think he's the best qualified person they could find.

Of course you're reading this from a guy who was depressed for a week when he discovered Amanda Grove was no longer one of CNBC's on-air reporters, lol !

The sad part is that the people on CNBC don't yet understand that there's gonna be a difference between the economy recovering and the stock market recovering this time around.

The best part is that when the economy starts to recover ... we'll probably start having inflation ... which will promptly lead to rate hikes, lol.

Chris

07:57 ET Salomon Cuts Storage : Salomon downgrades Emulex (EMLX 22.81) and QLogic (QLGC 40.74) two notches to NEUTRAL from Buy, cuts price targets to $23 from $52 on EMLX and $42 from $70 on QLGC; downgrades JNI (JNIC 9.12) to NEUTRAL from Outperform and cuts target to $10 from $22. In all three downgrades, Salomon cites recent data that indicate the economic downturn is beginning to impact host bus adapter vendors. Also lowers estimates on INRG, BRCD, and LGTO.
