We don't know what went on inside QCOM. Rich is obviously a very competent leader in some regards but I found his brashness a bit out of character to the rest of the QCOM team. His verbal challenges to the GSM cabal were probably not helpful.

He seems to me to the kind of guy who wants to lead a company. With his chances at that with QCOM no longer present he probably decided to shop around elsewhere. Makes a lot of sense to me.
