I respectfully disagree. Human life is not necessarily the same as an individual person. For instance, human somas could be created in laboratories for genetic and organ harvesting. They would be "brain-wiped" thus having no ability to formulate cognitive thought or personality.

A fetus has the potential but has not yet reached the stage of actual personhood. Perhaps the best way to determine when it becomes an individual with all the basic rights is when it starts to exhibit brain wave activity commensurate with that in most newborns.

It is food for thought.
