Like 99% of all criminal law is supposed to be handled. One of the least appreciated threats to our civil liberties is the gradual but accelerating creation of federal criminal law system parallel to the states.

Actually, it [abortion] should be handled by the states. the federal government should stay out of it.

I agree that according to the constitution it should be handled by the states. You could try and stretch the constitution by using the equal protection clause to give the federal government a role but I don't like stretching the constitution like this, even if I think it is less of a stretch then Roe Vs. Wade.
