CJ, no tempers, just tired of the sarcasm and certain clowns that decide to pass gas all the time. I don't care if anyone is long or short as long as they are ethical and not overbearing.

I am all cash in my trading account and own only GLW in my LT accounts on which I write covered calls every month and use the proceeds to buy more shares of the same.

The markets stink and they are all going lower IMO. I am up 117% this year pre-tax by playing only the long side, and also the short side by writing covered calls. I only am up this amount because I am trading often and in large chunks. Equities are an instrument only to me, but I choose them based on my risk aversion which is correlated to valuation.

I prefer objectivity and to call a duck a duck -- and I would not buy before earnings any stock right now, since all are getting punished to the tune of a couple of dollars immediately afterwards, irrespective of whether the news is bad, good, or indifferent, because the issue is visibility, of which there is none. Next month the markets may be higher because folks make money on volatility, but for now, I will sit and wait to buy more of the shares I like to trade after earnings and after the JDSU $40 billion write off is probably announced on Thursday evening. Good evening.
