OT--that is something Mike.It sounds like south central Pennsylvania is in a "skip zone".Having read about the heavy rains in West Virginia and south east Pennsylvania(Penn's Woods--remember having to learn that in grammar school:) didn't know your situation.
Just saw on TV of a similar situation in the farm area of Oregon, going on now.
We have had several extreme dry summers here(bone dry to one foot--i mean pure dust).
it was then i found i am extremely fortunate regards my well,as i could water endlessly with no problem while my neighbors were going dry and having to get drillers.
It is so much luck in that department.I am ,on both my properties, artesian,at drill depth of less than 100 feet.
But others i found were having to drill to over 500 feet to get an artesian supply.
May you get wet:) paxmax
