The two states are divided ideologically in every measure you can come up with...!

Sometime back they were arguing about who owned the river and the right of ways. It was then split down the middle.

Eventually Vermont gave NH what they wanted... a boundry line on the west bank and ownership of the river.

A few years after that Vermont refused to pay for any bridge maintenance. That really pissed off NH, and they felt the title again of "unsophisticated rock-infested numb-nuts."

The liquor stores are also another point of contention, but the taxes are so high in VT..., who can resist. I don't believe the alcohol is abused any differently in either state.

A lot of wonderful humor has come out of these two states and their very distinctly different residents.
