The way I see it Rory just got tired of Kennecott's lackadaisical attitude towards the whole area. He is and always has been hot and horny over the properties but is repeatedly frustrated by Kennecott's action or non-action since the JV was formed (ie. things are just moving too slowly). He prefers a more aggressive approach but it does seem that money is tight. IMO, a desperate effort to prove his theories sooner rather than later...right or wrong. The bright side is he has full control of the program and can (hopefully will) disclose findings in a more timely manner without waiting for K's approval. The dark side...apparently, AGF funds don't give a chit and they continue to decrease their holdings.

I realize this doesn't answer your question but right now my concern is what their own crew (on site as we speak) will find that Kennecott, for one reason or another, can't. Sit back, make some popcorn, and try and ignore HSBC sells...or better yet, buy some while they're unloading if you have faith in Rory. No point chasing...they're happily slamming bids down to 0.18 today...maybe even 0.16 again in the not too distant future.
