Alcatel CEO Tchuruk considering divesting its components division RELATED SYMBOLS: (ALA) PARIS, Jul 26, 2001 (AFX-Europe via COMTEX) -- Alcatel is considering divesting its components division as part of its drive to reduce costs, chief executive officer Serge Tchuruk said during a conference call after the company released its first half sales today. He said divesting operations had already reduced the number of factories to 100 from 250 and if the components division was divested, this would be reduced further to around 50.
