Extortion is the proper term. Most Americans never think this through to that point, so the IRS still exists.

I think extortion may very well be the proper term, but some form of taxation seems necessary. I am not in favor of anarchy. Another form might be better then the income tax but another tax would still be extortion. I doubt that we could fund even a minimal government with voluntary contributions.
