Peter, I'm not a history buff but we've just seen what did get the price of gold to move this spring with the Aussie mine going belly-up. It's a classic supply and demand issue.

At the moment the gold seems to move in isolation of the world markets, it's not considered a currency anymore. The only meaningful influence if seen on its price is "lease rates."
