Ahh, I see. C02 not C.

My personal suggestion would be to compensate for the C02 using algae ponds. The algae is more efficent than forest as a solar collector (in terms of biomass created per unit area), can be digested for methane, and would consume a corresponding amount of c02, serving as a sink. Every time I fly, I see vast tracks of nearly worthless land that could serve as solar farms, with some investment.
