NV-- LOL! Since 97% of all posts are just BS,, why not sign off with 'JMBS'?
You stated "When the economies recover, the company will be leaner and pricing power is likely to return with end demand",,, probably so. but why look to commit funds on a LT gamble when trading some issues is so much more profitable? Count the times you could have bought at 13+ or 14+ and sold @ a profit only to come back again.

You ask "Will people want to buy 12 months or 3months
ahead of the turnaround?" I suggest if it is 12 months out the timing is just beginning,, why not wait to invest until there is some certainty? If it is 3 months-- why buy so early? This is a traders mkt mostly at this time,,, at least where techs are involved..

While you are looking to buy tomorrow, I'm wondering if I did not sell a bit early,, if so I'll probably be able to catch it at one level or another several times before it starts to look like a LT hold-- when that happens I'll buy IBM or something else with strong mgmt and a better rep,,

IMHO, the story on CPQ at this point is simple. Forget about P/S, PE, etc. If you believe their services biz will grow fast enough to prevent disaster on the hardware side, go long. If not, trade it as I do or stay away. It's clear that Dell will continue to cream CPQ in regard to boxes. I see statements from MC that he is again 'disappointed' with consumer sales and CPQ will review how they handle 'sales channels'.. These guys always seem to remind me of an army in retreat. Rather than junking something that flat doesn't seem to work, they tinker and tinker while the competition continues to steamroll them.

Best regards,
John

NV,
I think you CPQ comments are on target.

This CPQ Board has a number of retarded posters. They don't own the stock and haven't had the guts to short it.

They poke fun at Compaq and the currently suffering shareholders. They remind me of school yard bullies.

Ignore them, they are failures and project failure onto everyone else around them.
