I frankly could care less about worthless old opinion posts or obsolete dated analyst news blurbs, neither being objective. Nothing will change, unless you are H.G. Wells. This stock is toast, and will likely not be "coming back" any time soon, for years to come. So many other "new economy" wonders share that fate as well. (That won't stop the mass media and brokerage industry propaganda experts from trying to revive the bubble) The blame game of who did what here and how the "big conspiracy" transpired is subject to so many variables as to likely be rendered completely moot to any stragglers still holding the bag 1 year later. No one forced anyone to let gains turn into losses, no one forced anyone to believe in some nebulous "story" that was not confirmed by price action and the main trend changing (which I was quite right on in early 2000 only wish had not waited till July to get out) Some of you will continue to seek a scapegoat(s), and likely won't like what you find, if anything, anyways. Fact is, there was plenty of greed to go around all over, and investors were duped and left on the short end of the stick. No one forced slick and probably behind the scenes desperate GNET execs. to sign on the bottom line and cash out to a foreign huckster who offered a "solution" to slowing growth rates and falling behind the competition at the time. Maybe, just maybe, it was also the small investor who was duped first by the shiny smiles and flashy promises then left hanging out to dry out of false hope. The proverbial small investor who shares 1 small part of the blame as well, empowering all of these clowns with reverent cult status way back in the first place then refusing to believe they could be betrayed. Who knows, if the GNET "good guys" had not cut and run, the stock might be sitting close to $21 like GOTO is now. There may have been a gullible hedge fund desk or other extravagant groups hellbent on valuing and keeping the stock valued up far higher than a typical small money center basing their "earnings" on interest income. That is assuming the $400 m. grant from Unca P. would be left after the tech and advertising carnage since 3-00. On the other hand, the odds are very slim that GNET would even be at $10 now in light of so many others getting smacked down to reality, chiefly competition like YHOO at $16. Since revenue growth (PRO FORMA) was clearly slowing from late '99 and mgmt. saw the writing on the wall indicated in their unwillingness to follow through on their stated promises, it is more than quite possible that GNET would be just another huge post bubble market cap dissapointment and other scapegoats would have been dredged up like A-HA! It just HAS to be so and so's fault! If one hates a company they own shares in like this Blackholespace, they should not bother owning a part in it. It will continue to eat away and cause bitterness, clouding the mind towards other opportunity. I would just request that you please don't testily reply back to any more of my infrequent messages here, it is pointless to go round and round beating a dead horse! In no way should you construe that to be personally offensive, you are dealing with more than enough having this albatross around the neck. I have been there in the past, done that, and it eventually has to be cut clean or life will not be fun. I wish you the best in any case, even though you are a stranger. From vacation in beautiful Naples, Italy, best regards.
