Re: "Nope. Just happen to be around SI tonight. I was posting on SI right before your post, go check the timing."

Sure - and you just happened to find ALbert's personal attack on me and you banned him forthewith - right?

Of course not - you just keyed on my post -a REPLY to Albert's attack - and NOT on Albert's attack in the first place.

Why deny it?

AMD Processors Being Bugged? [6:55 pm] Gavric
AMD officials have confirmed the information that small part of K6-2, Athlon and Duron CPU families can be troubled with some bug causing incorrect work with JPEG and MPEG files. According to Van Smith, this bug is a result of improperly run chips tests, which failed to detect some bugged CPUs and they got to the hardware shops. At this moment the test procedure is improved and all the bugged CPUs will be cast away.

If you would like to find out if your CPU has this bug, you are welcome to click here. AMD offers to exchange all the troublesome chips.

Since the bug was found only now [ Note the articlke referenced was from THREE YEARS AGO !!!], it is either common for just a small number of the CPUs or it is too negligible to be noticed in real life. Anyway, it appears unlikely that all this fuss will undermine the buyers' trust to AMD.
