Hey, Freddy, glad to see you. I thought you were pouting or something. Gangs are terrible-- I don;t think anyone was disputing that at all. But what you did was emphasize race in reference to gangs and I think that's wrong. I believe that to further separate "them" from "us" is to aggravate the problem longterm. I am not- as you should well know-- a liberal. I do respect other cultures, but I also believe in assimilation- such as the Irish, the Italians, the Swedish have done in the past. And as many of the Asians are doing now (as evidenced by their academic success which shames us at times). I believe in English as our official language- not out of some white pride crap, but because to not hold that standard weakens us as a unit. try not to start with the nasty debate tactics-- I am no expert. Nor are you. But we all have different experiences and viewpoints that are interesting to hear about. I;m reading Foxfire by Joyce Carol Oates at the moment. It's about a poor white girl gang in upstate NY in the 50s...
