Agreed. However, I think you have to consider context.
I DO like MC. I'm not a fan of him these days. I think there's alot of untapped, unproven potential.
Consider this - when I was growing up, I LOVED Mike Schmidt. However, when he went through one of his slumps...I was certainly not a fan of his performance. Overall, he remains one of my favorites and is probably the greatest (or second greatest if you're from Baltimore) 3rd baseman ever.

I don't see the two comments as mutually exclusive. Just contextual.

LOL...regarding politics, yes...not a bad idea.
However, I always find people who go back and review post after post to search through replies to have alot of time on their hands. Yes? LOL...yours was a slam dunk, to be sure, since it was only 2 days differential, but I've had some people who go back 3/4/5 months to find inconsistencies in posts and "reasoning".

The problem with SI, in my opinion, is that it is really constrained by 2 things. 1. Time frame...most posts are geared toward specific short term events and issues, and as such will carry seemingly contradictory comments over time. Context always tends to explain these things. 2. Short messages, generally. For me to explain my full feelings about CPQ and MC would take about 10 paragraphs, not to mention footnotes and references. I don't have time for that, nor would anyone care to read it.

As such, I remain firmly on the fence as to his performance. This doesn't mean I don't like him...it means I do, but that current trends that have developed lead me to become skeptical about his long term viability. As such, I don't have to be a fan "these days".

That said, given all that's happened in the last 6 months, he hit a rocky patch in Nov/Dec, he has performed as well since then as many others. Not extraordinary, but not abysmally. What I just don't understand is his new "vision". That is, I see what he wants to do, I can see how he can achieve it, but I don't know how HE'LL do it, or IF HE can do it. Context. I remain hopeful, but hope won't entice me to buy right now.
