They offer help only for the sectors who give them soft money and don't need help like energy, drugs, weapons contractors, timber clear-cutters, chemicals, pesticides, tobacco. The rest of the economy can go to hell as far as they're concerned. Who do you think gets all the contracts for these 1900 new power plants and wilderness oil drillings Cheney wants so much despite public opposition? Never before have we seen such a shameless and obvious corporate tool for a special interest sector which has personally given him and his many-many millions basically working as lobbyists. This my friends is called corruption, especially when it goes against public need, opinion and pollutes our environment. We could save more with conservation and increased efficiency than all these Cheney plans put together but no, he doesn't want us to conserve or go cleaner, or doesn't think it's important. Sulfurous coal is a great idea. More acid rain and green house gases the only result. And by being the lone hold-out in the Kyoto treaty US plants will eventually fall behind as foreigners will have cleaner more efficient systems Bush/Cheney/Energy Lobbyists refuse to invest in. All the US public gets is more pollution from this gang. Won't save a single job. Kyoto wouldn't hurt the economy at all. Cheney and Bush lie through their teeth on that one as well. Over the long haul Kyoto would be very good for the economy, and our standard of living. Short-sighted greed and pandering to soft money cronies. All it is. Vote them out in 2002 (their cronies in congress that is). Pigs at the troughs of our money. Already given away half our surplus to the rich now want to spend the rest on some satellite laser systems against an imaginary enemy which doesn't even exist. Rogue states my ass. As if.
