Did you not flatly assert this? -- Taxes and the obligation to serve in the militia were never purely voluntary... And I gave you examples of when they were voluntary. Some citizens actually bequeathed part of their assets to the U.S. government to assist in its efforts throughout the late 1700s and into the early 1800s. And you are in error about this: No one said anything about either income taxes or the Continental Army... Someone DID say something about that... me!
