Dear Tench: If anything it is even more false! Sledgehammer was shown in N way configurations. HT is now being standardized with 180 companies (even more than Infiniband). HT does go across sockets (or do you have a fantasy that all Hammers will be direct soldered to the MB) currently. A pair of HT to fiber interfaces is quite feasible as HT is a P2P link. Or did you miss that part in the recent presentation? I think you are confusing Clawhammer and Sledgehammer. Clawhammer was not for anything above 1-2 way since inception. Pete
