You can count on Linux. Whatever MSFT will support, you tell me. Tell me, what percent of users run linux? Do YOU use Linux? You can have 32-bit compatibility plus any 64-bit app of your choice at full processor speed. ... not if it's compiled for Itanium... and there's a fair amount of software out there for Itanium... and it's growing daily. I think AMD bet that Intel either 1) wouldn't get the Itanium out or 2) that it wouldn't gain industry acceptance. Looks like they bet wrong...
