PS- the old school says to sell a stock with 2 quarters of declining growth.

Does the old school factor in a massive tech spending slowdown?

This surprises me too. I listened to the conference call and didn't hear anything to change my view of the company.
FWIW, Value Line just put out their CREE analysis on July 20, and I wanted to Quote the first and last sentence of the text.

"Cree, Inc. is a double high-tech company, in that it makes advanced devices for state-of-the-art products and does it with uncommon proprietary technologies." and "This warrants ignoring projected data in favor of buying in as cheaply as possible and awaiting developments."

I've read a lot of Value Lines, and those two sentences really stand out as not being their typical verbiage. Not that Value Line is the be-all and end-all of stock analysis, just another point of view.

My personal opinion is that all the talk about tornados and chasms and bowling pins misses the point that Cree, for whatever it's worth, is the gorilla of silicon carbide.
