QUALCOMM (QCOM) 59.66 +0.07: -- Update -- Company optimistic about China. QCOM signed its first three license agreements with Chinese manufacturers in JunQ and is seeing the initial impact of China Unicom's deployment in China with strong infrastructure chip shipments and orders from several manufacturers....stock at 62.26.

Verisign Reaction : VRSN +4.35 up strong after beating estimates by $0.11, hearing that the company guided higher on its conference call as well. Sector peer CHKP +1.06 trading higher in sympathy.

ICOS Corp (ICOS) 60.19 +2.19: -- Update -- Reports Q2 loss of $0.37 a share, $0.06 better than the First Call consensus of ($0.43); revenues rose 73.2% to $34.01 mln from a year-ago of $19.64 mln.

QUALCOMM (QCOM) 59.66 +0.07: -- Update -- On call, company expects SepQ to be trough with sequential improvement in DecQ, partly helped by 1X shipments. Company expects MSM chipset sales in SepQ to be moderately lower than the 14 million units shipped in JunQ. QCOM expects to ship 4 mln 1X chipsets in SepQ, bringing the cumulative total to 6 mln 3G units shipped during fiscal 2001 (ending Sep).....stock at 63.

After Hours Indications : The tone for the late session has improved slightly since the last update. S&P futures at 1207, trade even with fair value while the Nasdaq 100 after hours indicator is lower by one point.

QUALCOMM (QCOM) 59.66 +0.07: -- Update -- Company reduces its estimate for CDMA phones sold in calendar 2001 to 75 mln, from the mid-80 mln range before. Also, company expects a 15% annual decrease in ASPs of CDMA phones, but will benefit down the road as 1X chipset sales increase....stock at 62.89.

QUALCOMM (QCOM) 59.66 +0.07: -- Update -- Driving the excitement after hours is a better than expected sales figure for chipsets. Revenue for the group was $333 mln vs around $285 mln consensus...The outlook looks good. On the call, company said it expects the shift to 1X chipsets will raise average selling prices....Company expects market share gains in fiscal 2002 thanks to 3G rollout... Also, company said it expects to post a strong SepQ quarter for license fees....stock at 62.90.
