techanalyst1, Once the big promotions start, interest is going to start picking up.

MSFT and Intel and spending a lot of money on advertising this one.

Demand will just pick up more than people expect; it will just feed upon itself; they are promoting it as the biggest consumer launch since Windows95. The reluctant buyers will feel as they are missing out--it is bound to unfold that way.
Actually the launches will be promoted on a much larger scale worldwide.

There will be a psychological element that contributes to its success because it is targetting the consumer market.

That is how I see it unfolding.

(btw--this is just in addition to the practical reasons for upgrading that "Bill Fischofer" noted)
