I didn't miss the point. You said: In fact, the stock had positive money flows for days despite high degree of price fluctuation - a clear case of manipulation if you ask my opinion. I'm saying that price and money flow almost always diverge in the ST and it not a sign of "manipulation". If you think a divergence between money flow and price is evidence of manipulation, then you don't have clue as to what it really is that moves stock prices in the ST. CIEN has an enormous number of MMs and traders every day. Here's a list by volume in June:

nasdaqtrader.com

The top three market participants are ISLD, GSCO, MSCO and while plenty of traders complain that the second and third market participants might engage in some market manipulation attempts, how in hell did they corral all those guys on The Island? It's a ridiculous concept when you consider the logistics of manipulating a stock like CIEN that is traded over so many avenues. How do they agree on where it should go and more importantly WHY? They're all trying to make money off each other. One could argue that any and all buying and selling is attempt to manipulate the price.

BTW I use divergence between price and money flow to make decisions about when to make an entrance or exit.
