This year, we are driving to exciting Post Falls, Idaho. We will have to be careful, though: rumor has it that gangs of white youths (and not so youthful whites) infest the Idaho panhandle. It is going to be a warm drive through eastern Oregon and Washington to get there, but we plan to make a run for the coast after the meet is over. I never tire of the Oregon coast.

On the way through Portland, we plan to stop at my favorite bookstore: Powell's Books. They are supposedly the largest single bookstore in the United States, stocking well over 1,000,000 new and used books (shelved together for easy price/condition comparison). Everyone entering is given a map detailing the various rooms on the different floors. I think I will take out my rumble seat before I go north - I might need the space for the books I hope to find.

It seems to me that you are coping rather well with all of the tremendous changes you have had to confront this year. (I would tip my hat in recognition of your accomplishments in that regard but I don't wear a hat.)

Take care!
