lifeisgood....the weak GDP number will likely be revised downward
What do you base this on?

hmmm Q1 was revised upward

from this week's Barrons:

As Friday's release of the gross domestic product data confirmed, the second quarter was a bummer. Frankly, we're kind of surprised that the economy eked out any growth at all. But then, we've only had Uncle Sam's first estimate and the revisions lately have been pretty much one way -- down. In fact, the sprightly GDP gain of 5% reported for 2000 last week was revised to a much less sprightly 4.1%

I would add that, for the previous 14 quarters, when GDP growth was < 4%, 5 of 7 revisions were downward. Last quarter's upward revision was a rare exception to this norm.
