You're putting the spotlight on some important fundamental points. In fact, reminds me of an important commentary about the UK market and economy a few days ago on another url. Article pointed out that while most focus on the Japanese market leading the Global Bear Market down, the FTSE is an equally important leader and should be getting a lot more attention. Also. Will be interesting to see how well socialism does there when the production from those giant UK North Sea fields is a lot lower a few years from now and their trade balance goes into the tank... Very OT (Non-Soccer Folk Please Skip) Yep. Went to the stadium, here in town, to see that World Cup qualifer between Costa Rica and the USA, last Fall. Whoa! What a scene. Talk about crowd enthusiasm?! The place was packed, and it was just wild. If you've never gone to one? Definitely put it on your list of must do's. Our friend, a top pro who just retired from the Columbus Crew last year shared a block of "players tickets" he has available to him. So our whole family went with him and his girl friend. Definitely a soccer conscious raising experience for us to see a game like that through his eyes. Especially for my 2 teenage sons who are both serious players and work individually with this pro. What made his perspective even more compelling is that he played with Coby Jones and Joe Max Moore for 4 years at UCLA and when they won the NCAA Div I Championship in 1990. What a monster team that was...Geez! And YES! Costa Rica has a damn good team. They're fast, they're highly skilled AND they know how to play the "physical" side of the game.<g> Couple of their defensive backs really impressed me. Very fast and very smart at reading the plays coming at them. They could play in any professional league in the world, IMHO. Best regards, Iso
