<<The bad news is that the hoped-for second-half recovery now seems almost out of the question.>>

Jim: I think the media must be listening to you <VBG>.

I am predicting a slow but steady rebound that should kick in by Q1 2002 --- yet, some sectors will come back MUCH stronger than others. It clearly is a STOCK PICKER's MARKET...=)

Best Regards,

Scott

The former CEO of JDSU knew when to leave and when to sell most of his shares...

biz.yahoo.com

Hmmmm.....he finished selling MOST of his JDSU by the end of last summer. He made a fortune and had great timing BUT significant insider sales often mean something...Mr. Kalkhoven was doing MUCH MORE than a little diversification...If he had a lot of faith in his company and its future he could have stayed on as an active board member with a lot of skin in the game (sort of like Cisco's former Chairman and CEO -- who is still around in a big way). When a visionary leader decides to cut & run and unload HUGE BLOCKS of shares...that says something....Just my views....=)

Best Regards,

Scott
