Well, the interesting thing is that it doesn't necessarily matter to the sort of people I refer to if one acknowledges the possibility of justification, and merely wants to use the current available term. In other words, there may be reason for the distinction, but the language offers little in the way of refinement, and therefore confusion of various sorts may ensue. Think what that may do to social science research, for example: the guy who thinks he is not a homosexual as long as he occasionally dates a woman; the fellow who is sure he is not a child molester because he seduces only the pubescent, and always gets "consent"; how often does this defiance of conventional terminology enter into faulty research or difficulty in socialization......
