First off, my silly post was directed at TP who is of the gun control crowd and it was an analogy to Sat Night Specials..... I went to the American Power conference. Fuel Cell technology is years away from being affordable. There are several systems in operation. But understand this. Are you listening? Good. The largest functional system will power about a house. No more. They are not the end all beat all solutions yet. Solar power is a joke. There is not enough space to put in a system big enough to matter. Wind power? You ever seen the power plants that use turbines? The greenies will crap down both legs before they let their precious valleys and hills in the mountains be polluted with wind turbines. You see people spout off about these technologies without researching them. Hydro power is one of the best sources out there. But the Greenies get their pants in a wad about that too. The US have the most hydro plants in the world. Did you know that? And yet everytime they come up for FERC re-licensing lots of them get closed instead of re-habbed. Why? Greenies have put som many unreasonable demands on these installations, rehabilitation is not feasible. I think nuke and coal are the way to go. Coal can be made to burn clean and nuke can be designed to handle its own waste.
