As I expected the replacement heart patient will get stronger and stronger as other organ function improves with renewed blood flow. Being able to get up and walk will now hasten the process of recovery and the fact that his lungs remain clear of fluid and infection is a most encouraging sign, imo. The only wild cards in his outlook for survival are the affects of his diabetes on his system, whether he can be returned to a fully normal metabolic state if not already there, and the possibility that he will get stomped to death in the stampede of news reporters when he is ready to talk to them. Seriously and I don't mean to trivialize for the sake of a joke, when he reaches the point of being able to experience his first post critical illness erection and orgasm, perhaps involuntarily through a nocturnal emission, he will want to talk to the world and share the encouragement and optimism he must be feeling for his future and that of others who had shared his condition. You see not only is life now possible for him where there was a resignation to a wasting death but now QUALITY of life is possible!!!
