gst, you are right computers didn't drive productivity growth much over historical norms.

however, you are wrong about greenspan not being gravely responsible. why? he changed the gdp measurement system in such a way that productivity growth DOUBLED, without a d* thing in the economy changing. he then compared the new turbo measurement system to the old more real numbers and said, "new economy." that is a dishonest, apples to oranges comparison. he didn't sell his integrity for zero denaro. he wanted a result. he got it. now it is falling apart as bubbles always do.

the new economy was based on alan greenspin's faked gdp numbers based on the bogus calculation greenspin implemented.

greenspin's numbers created the illusion of the productivity miracle. which, in turn, provided license for people to exercise their right and get dumb.

are the dumb at fault, sure. so is the swindlee. but that in no way makes the swindler any less guilty.
