Will eating eggshells increase the yellowness of the yolk?

No, it will make the egg shells harder.
Eating grass and insects and scratch (cracked corn)
and generally just running free ranch will make the yolks
very bright and deep yellow and verrrry tasty. I can't
eat factory chicken eggs. We get ours now from a local
farmer.

When I was a kid I did nothing but save the mice our cat
caught in the feed room. I'd put them back. Lordie, was
my mother ever mad when she caught me at it!

Then, early in my married life we lived on a small farm
primarily to renovate the century house, but we also
raised chickens for eggs and freezer. I did the eggs
part - not the other. But the roast chicken we had every
Sunday tasted like nothing I've had since.

It's enough to make you want to go back to the land.
