They believe in their environmental science in much the same way an Islamic militant
believes he is going to heaven when he straps a bomb to his butt to blow up a school
bus.

Very perceptive, Joe.

Giant iceberg splits from Antarctica

Scientists are tracking a giant iceberg which has broken off an Antarctic glacier.

The new ice fragment is around 25 miles long by nine miles wide and is considered evidence of climatic change.

It is thought to have split from the Pine Island Glacier into the southern Amundsen Sea earlier this month.

The iceberg has been named B-21 and satellites watched the split develop over a period of 14 months.

Scientists hadn't expected the ice to break away from the main pack so soon and say they are surprised by the development.

It is being tracked by Nasa's Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer and aircraft. Experts say the event is more evidence of rapid change in the region.

The image sequence animation of B-21's birth can be seen online.

I'm at least 100 feet above mean sea level, in a place that will not flood. So I am all right jack. As for global warming, most USA residents will fry before we break out into a sweat here. Screw global warming, who cares?-g-
