"And just why should a city council meeting begin with a prayer?"

Because God asks us to.

"There is no fairness involved at all. It is the majority getting in the face of the minority."

Del, no one said God was fair.

Not very Christ-like at all."

How do you know?

Now go and hug a tree before I cut it down.

No not all Christian, one night it was local Bahai that I can recall. Also Unitarian, Jewish and Mormon.

So far no one has objected that I have seen and I was going regularly for a couple years. Shocking that you can do at a council meeting what cannot be done in a school. Wonder why?

Prayer, invocation, best wishes, positive thoughts.....different forms and not a big deal. Hardly intimidating.

I can tell you one thing. The "majority" don't go to Council meetings, it's the "minority".

"Every man, wherever he goes, is encompassed by a cloud of comforting convictions, which move with him like flies on a summer day"
