Hi The Prophet; Re: "I'm glad that you are picking Via's judgment over Intel's. Sort of like picking Eyore over Secretariat."

Very good! In fact, most of the time, it would be wise to follow Intel's lead. But what did Intel say about Rambus? That it was a "mistake?" And did Intel decide to support DDR? They did? And did VIA acknowledge their mistake with DDR and decide to support RDRAM? They didn't? Maybe you should make your investment decisions on a basis more complex than "Intel gorilla! Intel win!! Follow Intel!!! Ignore all other sensory input!!!!"

Maybe there's a way to explain the situation so that you can comprehend it...

Intel, the big gorilla, was king of the forest. He found a rare rambus tree, and he decided that it would have the best fruit in the forest! So he camped where he could eat and eat! Mmmmmm! This rambus fruit tasted so good! But then he noticed something. The Rambus fruit wasn't actually turning into "product". And when he did produce "product" he really had to strain his stomach muscles! He decided that this rambus fruit was a mistake! He was constipated! And rambus was the cause! His "products" had come out like clock work (i.e. regularly) before he switched his diet to rambus!

What to do???

Then the gorilla saw that the little VIA monkey was feasting happily over in the DDR bush. That wouldn't provide much of a throne for a big gorilla, but at least he wouldn't have to strain at the stool. So the Gorilla decided to go try the DDR fruit. And it was tasty, and much easier to digest!

But for 2 years after he switched trees, the Rambus fruit was still stuck in his lower intestine! So he had to sh:t out Rambus products until he finally got the stuff cleaned out of his system! But boy, it felt good. For a while there, the VIA monkey was really taking advantage of him! Heck there were pregnant lady gorillas all over, and he knew he hadn't been the one getting the action!

Re: "I see you are backpedaling from your concession last week that RDRAM will soon be within 30% of DDR."

I never conceded that. That you think I did is simply more evidence that your view of the world is severely distorted. Hey, what can you expect from a guy who makes investing decisions based on silly gorilla analogies!
