Pete, <Here is a bench where dual 1.2 MP beats 4 way 700 2MB.>

Big deal, that's a floating-point benchmark suited more toward workstations than servers. I'm sure the dual Palomino also runs Quake faster than a quad P3 Xeon. Heck, I'm sure even Business Winstone 2001 runs faster on the dual Palomino as well!

4-way Xeon servers are targeted at database server applications. I doubt a floating point benchmark is going to sway customers away from buying 4-way Xeon (or Itanium) machines.

<So if dual 1.2 MP is more than 40% faster in SpecWeb99 than 933 P3, it would beat 4 way 700 Xeon 2MB as well.>

Speculation and a single irrelevant benchmark is a long way from your original taunt, "A twin 1.2 GHz Palomino beating quad 700 MHz Xeon 2MB in many benchmarks must be giving your group fits!" I guess that all depends on what your definition of "many" is.
