"If so then why do doctors take into consideration past medical history in ones family????! "

the genes reflect the "tendency" to have a certain kind of body, a certain kind of health, certain kinds of life habits, and so on.

You and I are not disagreeing on this. A medical guy can
get the history of the ancestors and can expect that much of this will be reflected in the body/health of the offspring body. However, the body-mind is combined with
Life-Energy (which lives it), and that resultant "personality" may have some tendencies that are in opposition to those of the body-mind. So you can have people with strong constitutions who live "unhealthy" life styles and still get along OK. And you can have people with weak constitutions who become healthy by decision and action.

From what I have learned, people have to find out for themselves what food, and so on makes sense for them. Different sorts of constitutions, blood types etc. have different requirements. You have to take responsibility for your own life, be willing to learn but not accept blindly anybody else's point of view without testing it in your own case.

"remember life is way too short as is, for I see death everyday!"

My Teacher, Adi Da, says: "Death is an interruption in life", meaning there is a sequence of:

1 physical life
2 between-life state (significantly similar to the dream-state
3 go to step 1
4 repeat step 1 (with your "deck" reshuffled)

So if you check out this model it puts a different slant on
"life" "death" and so on.

Namaste!

Jim

In my readings and what a see daily genes do make a very big difference!

And how do you think those genes evolved? Not from their ancestors eating Mickey D's and watching TV.

I just got back from Russia and I can't believe how obese Americans are. We are a bunch of fat, lazy slobs. We drive around in our cars all day long and watch the boob-tube at night.
