Lee, i can't answer that off the cuff...but note that it is also the wealthiest segment of the population that has the most money in stocks, and has drawn down its savings most dramatically. so my guess is, if we were to see a 30's style market wipe-out with the concomitant economic carnage, even the wealthy would reign in their spending, perhaps excepting the super-rich to whom it really doesn't matter one way or the other.
