I don't agree. I believe the bottom is in for JDSU. No we'll see a trading range around $8, until the signs of improvement start rolling in. This is one stock which could return 50% from these levels in less than a week on good news. If I had extra cash, I'd start buying all the leaders in tech industries right now. We're going to see steady, though meager for the next few quarters, improvement from here on out. We are in the trough of the economy right now.

>>>If you are correct Then I will buy at $4 or $5 also. But I watched GLW earlier in July announce devastating news and it traded slightly lower and has actually trended higher. Perhaps shorts are still covering GLW too. But you must keep in mind that JDSU is already down from $136 so it has been pummeled. I expected to see the stock go to 6.5 to 7.0 with over 67 mil traded but the " market " sellers and buyers whether short or not held it up....at least for now. Perhaps we'll see $6 next week......but any good news at all could fetch $10. JMHO <<<

Vicki, you're comments are right on the mark! I think institutions who would have dumped JDSU positions did so and most who went short covered at the deepest point of bad news, much like IPO/Quiet Period buyers sell into strength when analyst "buy" recommendations come out. I think it would take some hard/bad luck type announcements to bring it down any further. Betting JDSU won't bottom much more is why I jumped in at $8.11. Hope I'm right.
