The numbers don't bear out your analysis:

-- 40 African-Americans in the U.S. House of Representatives; 39 Democrats and 1 Republican.

-- 9 of 10 African-Americans voted for Gore on Nov. 8, despite more African-Americans rising from lower class to middle class.

-- Bush says "no thank you" when asked to address the upcoming NAACP convention, reversing an eight-year trend when either the president or vice president spoke to the convention.

What went wrong?

Why do the Republicans think that their message is going to attract Hispanic voters when it has failed to attract African-American voters?
