I assume you mean lessen the amortization and increase earnings?
I think yes if I understand you correctly. Since past EPS estimates have included this massive goodwill #, having exhausted this writeoff will cause more real earnings flow to the bottom line.
You bring up a good point as well, and that is with respect to how are you allowed to expense this "goodwill"? All at once, over fixed time frames? Most fixed assets have tables, of course we sometimes.....fudge. <g>

Nevertheless, I'd be interested in seeing how the aftertax income is effected. $/cash is good, still cash flow +? You make a good point regarding MC/NAV, the largest "assets" being these overpriced FO shops they were pickin up.

Next time you look at a 3yr chart of this stock and wonder where the $$ went, take a gander at the "Big New House" being built on the hill, eh?
