It brings to light some boundaries I hadn't seen, and crosses others I thought were uncrossable. >g<

I'll have to think about it for a bit; it certainly throws into question the whole issue of voice-over-wireless LAN. ISPs (wired) are now running into enterprise customer demands that voice be thrown in with their data package - or no deal.

If WISPs can't offer the equivalent voice/data package, it seems to me that they will be at a competitive disadvantage.

I'm inclined to agree that the evolution will not be along the 3-, 4G lines, and that it will be more diverse than the purists had envisioned.

I'm just not sure how good that diversity is, for profitability or progress. OTOH, if you're an incumbent, I suppose time is irrelevant, as long as radio LANs cannot steal market share.
