Islam is in a sense Christianity sans Christ as the son of God. Christ is considered a profit by Muhammad I think. But in that Islam started 600 AD if was influenced by the teachings of Christ. Mercy is at the core of Islam. But that concept was the foundation of Christianity and passed into Islam.

The majority of the population of this country is Christian. The government is NOT, despite all of the wrong wingers trying to make it so.
