Good post VS, but I disagree on one thing.

I don't mind holding resource stocks into the close (in fact, I have one right now) if they have good balance sheets and have sold off in some range. The position is small and I figure the odds are on my side.

One other thing. I've been checking the foreign numbers this morning. The only foreign exchanges which are doing well this year appear to be Mexico and Australia. The nikkei is now solidly below 12,000, a figure which was predicted to bring future collapse. The world didn't end, but the lack of activity in North American markets suggests to me that down is still the probable future direction. J6P is still in the market (now in value mutuals), but if the overextended credit conditions break, this could change in a a hurry.

Just my opinion.

Last April 2000 was NOT a surprise, neither was the January to April 4 ,2001 low a surprise. It was fully expected by those who were paying a great
deal of attention.

ROFL...if it was so "fully expected", why didn't those that "fully expected" it bet the farm on a leveraged vehicle, make tens of millions(easily, with it fully expected), and be off doing something other then spending itme on the internet predicting the end of the world as we know it? Easy to point out how "fully expected" everything is after the fact...BTW, current conditions hardly comparable to '87...
