I do not have experience with that. In my district a teacher is not allowed to leave the room. We must call the office and have someone come and relieve us. Even if we should need to throw up, we take a wastebasket to the door and throw up outside, but without closing the door. I know this is the policy because I felt quite ill one day last year and worked anyway, and so I asked.

Edit- but fwiw I would never set kids up to fail in so spectacular a fashion. Putting them in a position to report on each other is just asking for trouble. I discourage children from reporting things to me unelss there are health/safety issues involved. I do not want to encourage children to inform on each other. But of course I want them to feel safe. I find the best way to do this is omnipresence.
